Passport stamp collectors may have a new one to aim for if the island group of Bougainville gains independence from Papua New Guinea (PNG). In a recent vote, 98 percent of the island population were in favour of independence; if it ever happens, the new country will be one of the world’s smallest, slightly smaller than Jamaica or Lebanon.
