Between 176 and 195 amateur golfers from Japan recently descended to Thailand on three occasions to compete in three different Golf Tournaments at seven golf courses. The events were organized by Thai Airways International in Japan – Osaka, Tokyo, and Fukuoka and THAI’s Royal Orchid Holidays (ROH), in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The trip included special air fares, hotel stays in ROH-preferred top hotels at the Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit in Bangkok, the Grande Centre Point in Pattaya, and the Hilton Hua Hin, and a chance to play at a number of well-manicured golf courses. Golf competitions and practice rounds took place at tournament-like courses – Lam LukKa Country Club and Alpine Golf Club in the north of Bangkok, Siam Country Club Plantation Course and the Old Course where LPGA is played in Pattaya, Banyan Golf Club, Springfield Golf Club and Black Mountain Golf Club in HuaHin.
One of the events was organized to celebrate THAI’s 55th anniversary operating to Osaka, while the other two competitions were arranged to encourage inbound travel to Thailand and to help promote the country as a golf destination. THAI expects to bring even more golfers to Thailand to compete and celebrate with the Company on the special occasion of THAI’s 60th anniversary next year.
